PRODUCT CONDITION: How can I tell which products are new and which are used?
The majority of our products are brand new. When a product
is gently used, we ensure it looks and feels like new. We also emphasize all
pre-owned items clearly in the product description, so you can shop with
confidence knowing exactly what you're purchasing. If a product is new, it
won’t have any special notation unless it’s missing tags or original packaging.
LOWEST PRICES GUARANTEED: Do you offer price matching?
Yes, we offer a price match guarantee. If you
find an identical item for a lower price at another store, please let us know,
and we'll match the price. It must come from a trusted store
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION: Can I make an offer on an item?
Absolutely! We accept offers on items. Feel free to
negotiate a price that works for you. The negotiated product must be picked up
from our store. We do not negotiate on items that involve shipping costs.
RETURN POLICY: Can I return or exchange items I'vepurchased?
All purchases are final at our thrift store. We do not
accept returns or exchanges. Your purchases are considered donations to us.
SHIPPING: What is your policy on shipping materials?
We are committed to sustainability and recycle all shipping materials to minimize environmental impact.
SHOES SHIPPING: Do you ship shoes in their original boxes?
We do not typically ship shoes in their original boxes
unless it is specifically mentioned in the product description. Instead, we
ship them in bags or envelopes, choosing the most convenient and cost-effective
option for us.
PICKUP PURCHASE: Can I pick up my purchase instead of havingit shipped?
Yes, you can pick up your purchases at our thrift store
storage without any additional cost. However, the store opens based on
volunteer availability.
PICKUP ASSISTANCE: Can a volunteer help me place the purchased items in my truck?
Many of our volunteers are seniors or have a disability.
Consider bringing assistance to help load items into your car.
DONATE ITEMS: How can I donate items or shipping materials to your thrift store?
You can drop off your donations at our store. Before that email
at us store@mynewhousela.org or for pick-up arrangements. We greatly appreciate
your contributions.
INCOME TAX RECEIPTS: Do you provide tax receipts for donations?
Certainly! We do provide tax receipts for donations made in the form of money, time, or products. Your contributions qualify for tax deductions. Nonprofits are required by IRS regulations to issue tax receipts for contributions exceeding $250.00. If you require a tax letter, please reach out to us via email at store@mynewhousela.org.
LEGITIMACY: How do I know your thrift store is 100% legit and that all proceeds go to a good cause?
We opened a brick-and-mortar store in 2016 in Los Angeles, California, under the same name, My New House, and moved to online in 2024. We have earned the platinum seal of transparency from GuideStar since 2017. Our financials and causes are open to the public on this website.
